Weekly Image Challenge – January 8, 2023

It’s time for the PANS Weekly Image Challenge! What is the most likely diagnosis for these images in a 60 years old male who had a history of renal cell carcinoma (status post nephrectomy)?

  1. Metastasis
  2. High-grade glioma
  3. Lymphoma
  4. Abscess

Answer

Congratulations to those who selected metastasis. The previous history of renal cell CA was important information, along with older age. The heterogeneous enhancement shows necrosis, and hyperintense signals on plain T1 are hemorrhage within the lesion.
