Prof. Naveed Ashraf is the Chairman and Founder of the current Neurosurgery Department at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. He has been a practicing neurosurgeon for over 30 years in which he has acquired an extensive general neurosurgical practice with interest in cerebrovascular disease and traumatic brain injury. In 2012, a separate unit was established for him at Lahore General Hospital, where he held the third unit’s first chair.
Professor Ashraf has secured competitive government funding in excess of £5 million to establish Jinnah hospital Lahore as the leading institute in the country. His contributions boast the establishment of the neurosurgery-led neurocritical care unit dedicated to caring for the forsaken TBI patients in Pakistan. Dr. Ashraf is currently the lead examiner and convener for the MS Neurosurgery exit exam and OSCE lead. He is the Chairman of the specialty committee for MS Neurosurgery and the Convener of the Synopsis review committee of the University of Health Sciences. He has revised and updated the curriculum for MS Neurosurgery with input from the Royal College of Glasgow.
