Dr. Raheel Ahmed
, M.D., PhD. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Pediatric Neurosurgeon at the University of Wisconsin Health Kids in Wisconsin. He serves as the Surgical Director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Program. After graduating from the Aga Khan University Medical College, he completed his doctoral studies in Neurosciences at the University of Iowa. He then completed his Neurosurgery Residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, followed by a specialty Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowship training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Ahmed specializes in providing neurosurgical care for children and young adults with neurological disorders. He has a focused interest in the surgical treatment of epilepsy in children and young adults. He also provides fetal neurosurgical treatment in conjunction with the Fetal Treatment Center at UW Health. His translational research focuses on improving treatment outcomes for epilepsy by understanding neural network alterations involved in seizure generation and disease progression.
