Dr. Muhammad Shakir Afridi is an alumnus of the Aga Khan University class of 2020. He completed a one-year internship at Aga Khan University Hospital. Currently, Dr. Afridi is an Academic Associate at the Pakistan Academy of Neurological Surgery (PANS) and a Research Associate in the Department of Surgery, Section of Neurosurgery, at the Aga Khan University. He is a passionate researcher and his research interests include Global Neurosurgery, Global Health, and healthcare disparities. Dr. Afridi is currently working on Comprehensive Health Systems Policy Recommendations for the Management of Brain Tumors in Low and Middle-income Countries. In the future, he aspires to become a Global Neurosurgeon to improve neurosurgical care and health equity in low- and middle-income countries.
