Shah, Ahmed Ali

Dr. Ahmed Ali Shah is a visiting Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi. He graduated from Dow Medical College in 1972 and received his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1981. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, UK.
Dr. Shah trained as a Neurosurgeon at Central Middlesex Hospital, London, and at the Neurosurgical Unit of Guy’s, Maudsley, and King’s College Hospitals in London.

He returned to Pakistan in 1986 and established a Neurosurgery department at Civil Hospital, Karachi, where he served for 18 years, resigning in 2005 as Professor. He joined the Aga Khan Hospital as a part-time consultant and received the title of Honorary Professor.
He has served as President of the Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons and Dean Faculty of Neurosurgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. In 2008, he was elected as a member of the Sindh Assembly.
